...batten down the hatches, and swab the poop deck: I've started a blog!
The reasons for this blog are twofold:
1. To try my hand at blogging
2. To determine if, in fact, anyone will actually find and read this blog (hopefully on a regular basis) without me promoting it at all to family and friends.
A little explanation on the blog itself: the name was the first that came to mind. Probably not an original title in the history of the internet, then again maybe it is.
The masthead (assembled hastily by yours truly using the truly awful Microsoft Paint) features my snappy blog title superimposed over one of the most random photos I have ever found on the internet. The elderly chap receiving what appears to be some sort of award from a lavishly dressed dude replete with medals, commendations, and (inexplicably) animal pelts is just screaming for a caption. Perhaps someone can suggest one in the snappy comments area.
Here was another candidate which I ultimately passed over in favor of the very unhappy looking guy getting his award. Unfortunately, it's nigh impossible to add captions to pictures. A missing feature which may cause me to choose a different blogging website. We'll see. This is also a very

In any event, I will have to write something interesting in the hopes of getting found by someone. I'll hold a brainstorming session with myself, and put up post number two soon.
